Yesterday evening Mark Zuckerberg and his crew of Facebook came to Munich for a talk at Amiando, an online event service (we use for DLD btw). The room was packed, many peers of the Munich internet and venture scene but also from other cities. I saw Thomas Bachem of Sevenload, Oliver Beste, Oliver Samwer, Robert Lang, Stefan Glänzer, Klaus Eck (just published his new book), the local founders of Nachtagenten and mymuesli and many more. Mark came from Berlin that day. Here the video taken by Steffi on a flip:
We saw a live demo of Facebook Connect with Amiando. Liked it a lot. Will social selling a way to monetize communities? The Q&A also. Where Facebook is growing most (actually 30% online penetration in UK and more than 50% in Chile) and what is the issue with clones sites? Is Facebook opening a branch in Germany? What is the goal with Facebook Connect? How can service providers work with it? It is a more fluid thing making it easy to integrate I understood him explaining it. After this a lot ot photos, drinks and talk. Good for Munich internet culture that he was here and Amiando made this event.
